NC CEAL (I-TEAM)
The North Carolina Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) Research Team, also known as the Increasing Trustworthiness through Engaged Action and Mobilization (I-TEAM) Project, is one of 21 state teams in the Community Engagement Research Alliance Against COVID-19 in Disproportionately Affected Communities (CEAL). NC CEAL/I-TEAM is brought together in partnership by Community-Campus Partnerships for Health, the University of North Carolina Center for Health Equity Research, and the Wake Forest School of Medicine’s Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity.

Program Overview
NIH Goals
- Understand factors that contribute to health inequities in the nation especially the disproportionate burden of COVID and Long COVID in underserved communities.
- Disseminate and implement effective, community-engaged strategies to address misinformation.
- Enhance education, awareness, access, trust, and inclusion of underserved communities in COVID and Long COVID treatment and prevention strategies to reduce disparities and promote inclusive participation in research.
CEAL Overall Aims
- Goal 1: Disseminate trustworthy and science‐based COVID‐19 information and resources.
- Goal 2: Train Community Leaders on Evolving Issues Related to COVID‐19 and its Sequelae and Educate Others.
- Goal 3: Rapidly Assess, Innovate, and Evaluate Efforts to Prevent and Reduce COVID‐19 Burden.
